We’ve heard all the conspiracy theories, most of them involving checks in large denominations from Munich. This might seem believable to a certain segment of the population, but there’s a far less interesting truth behind all those wins: The BMW was the best car. Sure, certain rivals often upped their game in one area or another, but the 3 Series always put it all together in a way that made it better. So now the 2010 Audi S4 is here to take another shot. It’s all-new this year and the old V8 is gone. There’s now a supercharged V6 in its place, along with a lower price designed to better align the S4 with the BMW 335i. The BMW 3 Series received a face-lift of its own last year. It was mostly minor trim changes and the like, but we’re told that idrive thing was tweaked again, too (oh, lovely). Sounds like a fair fight, no?

yeah, it’s all about preference. i just think if you’re paying that much $ for a luxury sports sedan, you’d expect not just good things from the engine/handling but also the “flashy” appearance as well. black bmw is just too dull to me.

First off, I love BMW, secondly, the M3 didnt beat any of those cars in the article in car and driver in speed, it beat it in comforrt of drive which raised its total score higher, the M3 is fast but it will not compare to a turbo porsche or the GTR in any race. Cant say anything about the M5 but it might be closer…

I know they aren’t known for 4WD, that is definitely audi’s bread and butter, but watching the video, the BMW slips from dead start, whereas the audi has traction, I’ll admit i didnt read the stats, I just assumed that it wouldnt slip with 4WD, and the reason I prefer bimmers is that they are a lot less flashy, yes the audi’s look beautiful but I prefer something thats a little simpler. I my mind, every BMW should be black, plain and simple black from head to toe.

bmw is not known for 4WD. read the actual edmunds article. they chose the RWD bmw due to better stats. the 4WD BMW is just no match for the sports differential quattro on the audi. there’s a reason why audi still cost a bit more than the 4WD BMW – just look at the quality of the audi interior and options. there’s simply no comparision!

so for an extra $5000, you can buy a slightly faster car? Also, BWM has four wheel drive on their X sedans, which still cost 3500 less than the audi, They should have had four wheel drive against four wheel drive, they BMW might not be stock 4WD but the option still costs less than the audi. I know I am biased to BMW but they should have had an even race. I’d really like to know how the two different 4WD models stack up against each other

RS4 is to M3 as S4 is to 335i. its a fair competition. and the audi of course beats the fuck out of the two wheel drive bmw.

Well the 2009 S4 got royally raped by the 2009 335i, it took Audi a whole EXTRA generation of car to outstrip BMW.. way to go Audi.. second fiddle again!
Edmunds will have to just do an unfair comparison of the next gen 335i then when the 2011 335i rapes the 2010 S4.

S4 isn’t M3’s competition cuz they don’t have the same engine status. However, if audi came out with a new RS4 sedan, then it could compete with the m3

i think spoiled guido guys and girls of long island and nj have given bmw’s a bad name lol. From flying around the highways cutting people off w/ no signal. Audi’s are more like prep/golfer/ classy people. You could be filthy rich but that does not mean your classy lol

i know for a fact the 335i runs 4.8 at the quarter mile and i know the 335i stops in 109 ft. also rwd is better. i dont think the 335 is 60k either!
